SplitEasy Privacy Policy

TL;DR — Everything stays on your phone. SplitEasy has no servers, no accounts, and collects nothing. We can't see your data even if we wanted to.
Data we collect
None. SplitEasy does not collect, transmit, store, or share any personal data. There are no analytics, no crash reporters that phone home, no advertising SDKs, and no user accounts.
Where your data lives
Groups, members, expenses, receipts, and settings are stored in a local database on your device only. Uninstalling the app deletes them. Optional backups are files you create and store wherever you choose — we never receive a copy.
Device permissions
- Contacts — read only when you tap "add from contacts" to add a group member. The selected name, phone number, and photo are saved locally on your device. Your contact list is never uploaded anywhere.
- Camera / Photos — used only when you attach a receipt photo to an expense. Photos are stored locally on your device.
Receipt scanning (OCR)
Receipt text recognition runs entirely on your device using on-device machine learning. Receipt images are never sent to any server.
Purchases
The optional one-time Pro upgrade is processed by Google Play. We do not receive or store your payment details. See Google's privacy policy for how Google handles purchase data.
Sharing features
When you choose to share a reminder, invite link, export, or PDF, the content goes through the app you pick (e.g. WhatsApp, SMS, email). Nothing is shared unless you initiate it.
Children
SplitEasy is a general-audience utility and does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children — because it does not collect data at all.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new "last updated" date. Since the app is local-only by design, we don't expect it to change materially.
